Meet the Clinical and Care Team at Bayberry
The quality of residential treatment is shaped not only by the therapies on offer, but by the people who deliver them. At Bayberry, the clinical and care team brings together qualified therapists, psychotherapists, medical professionals and wellbeing specialists, working closely together around each person’s individual needs. From the first conversation with the admissions team through to discharge planning and aftercare, every stage of the process is supported by people who understand addiction, mental health and the complexity that so often surrounds both.

A Team Built Around Personalised Care
Bayberry does not offer a standardised programme, and that means the team cannot work in silos. From admission, a detailed clinical and therapeutic assessment informs a personalised treatment plan. That plan is shaped by therapeutic goals, medical considerations, wellbeing needs and the individual’s specific circumstances. As the person moves through treatment, the team continues to communicate, review and adapt the support being provided in response to how they are progressing.
Clients at both Bayberry Manor and Bayberry Cottages benefit from this collaborative approach. The therapy format and level of privacy differ between the two settings, but the clinical quality of care and the commitment of the people delivering it is consistent across both.
Meet the Bayberry Team
Bayberry is led by a close-knit group of people who have shaped both the clinical model and the culture of care at the heart of the service;
General Psychotherapy and Psychology
Mandy is a senior psychotherapist and Bayberry’s programme director. She provides specialist therapeutic sessions via a range of modalities. With over a 13 yeas experience providing therapeutic treatment, she holds an MSc in Organizational Psychology, a first class honours’ degree in Psychology, a Diploma in Psychotherapy and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Clinical Supervision. She was awarded a Graduate Certificate from Harvard University Extension School, Cambridge, MA, having specialised in the science of memory, biotechnology, philosophy and justice. She is an alumna of the 2019 cohort of the Transformative Technology Academy, focusing on neuroscience based solutions to support well-being, is a graduate member of the British Psychological Society, an international affiliate of the American Psychological Association, a registered counsellor with ACC, an accredited counsellor with the National Counselling Society and a Registered Test User (RQTU) with BPS for the delivery and interpretation of psychometric testing. She continues to focus on development of the unique services provided by the organisation and has a special interest in supporting the process of resilience building for a purpose driven life.
Clinical Supervisor
Mandy is an accredited clinical supervisor, registered with NCPS, having graduated from the University of Derby.
Areas of interest:
General Psychotherapy
Mandy is interested in a wide scope of general psychotherapy themes – including anxiety and trauma, meaning and purpose – with emphasis on memory and the use of the mind’s own resources for the re-balancing and fulfilment of emotional needs. She incorporates innate resources into her work and works with complex presenting issues – whether individually or with intimate partner relationships.
Psychosexual Therapy
Mandy has recently completed two years of further post-graduate specialist teaching/training in the field of clinical sexology/psychosexual therapy to enhance services to clients needing support with complex relationship needs, identity, sex, and sexuality. Mandy is currently completing supervised practice (and is actively working with clients) as an in-training/student member of the College of Sex and Relationship Therapists. She works with clients on a wide range of sexual themes – including desire, arousal, sexual orientation, sexual anatomy/psycho-education, sexual issues, intimacy, relationships, shame and shame containments, abuse, compulsive sexual behaviours, kink sexualities, sexual health and fertility, love and relationships, marriage, divorce, civil partnerships, communication in relationships, sexual violence, gaslighting, intimate partner abuse and recovery from sexual trauma. Please note that this is talking therapy and does not involve any form of touch. Sessions may sometimes include recommendations to visit a GP (for example to rule out causes such as low hormone level) and this is part of the process of discovery. We provide a positive, supportive space for LGBTQIA+ people and their families. We are entirely non-judgmental of any presenting issues and seek only to support the individual and their needs.
Secular and Faith Perspectives, and Anti-Oppression
Mandy is dual accredited in both faith-based and secular therapy, and also works via an anti-oppressive lens. She will work with clients where they are, via their perspective – and it is not unusual for clients with faith to seek out secular therapy, because they are concerned about being judged. Please be reassured that there is no judgment in relation to any perspective and Mandy works within your worldview and to the achievement of your goals. She has also engaged with training and a national leadership cohort to support anti-oppressive practices – both in therapy and within her leadership and community roles – to support widespread positive change.
Contribution to the Field, and Other Information
Mandy is an advocate for public policy change and pioneering innovative services to support the wider community, attended parliament in 2019 as a contributor to the Parliamentary Review, the House of Lords in 2023, was a keynote speaker at the HG mental health conference in May 2023, and is a founder member of the Leaders Council of Great Britain. Mandy’s original background was in the legal, financial and communication industries and she brings a wealth of experience to the organisation. A writer for over 30 years, she has also written several books.
